4574 - THE JUNCTION PUBLIC SCHOOL DEMOUNTABLE BUILDINGS

Hornery, Sonia to the Premier, and Minister for Western Sydney

Did you give a commitment to the parents of students at The Junction Public School that the school would receive a new building to replace its demountable buildings?

Answer -

A major capital works project was undertaken to reconstruct the school following the earthquake. This project provided a new administration building and 10 new classrooms, as well as a refurbished hall, special programs room, music room and canteen. Since then the school has been provided with a new canteen, six new classrooms and a new school hall.

A project to replace demountable buildings with permanent accommodation at The Junction Public School will continue to be considered for inclusion in a future capital works program.
