Answer -

I am advised:

  1. to (3) The purpose of fundraising for Calvary Mater Newcastle Hospital is to enhance the hospital's ability to provide care, comfort and research for residents of the Hunter New England Health Service and adjoining areas, mainly in the area of cancer care needs.
    $1.39 million has been raised over the past twelve years by the Mater Auxiliary to purchase equipment. The hospital receives donations from other sources such as clubs, community held events, business, bequests and individuals who often designate oncology services, palliative care or research as their area of donation.
