  1. As at July 2012, how many full-time equivalent Emergency Department registrars are employed at the:
    1. John Hunter Hospital;
    2. Calvary Mater Hospital?
  2. How many positions are filled and how many are vacant?
  3. What staffing enhancements are planned to increase full-time equivalent staff registrars in Emergency Medicine for 2012-13?
Answer -

I am advised:

  1. to (3) Staffing levels are determined and adjusted as required by local management in line with patient need and specific award and benchmark tools.
    At any one time hospitals operate with a degree of staff vacancies. However, where vacancies exist, temporary qualified staff are employed where required pending recruitment to these positions.
