479 - FUNDING FOR FOOTBALL (SOCCER) PLAYERS

  1. What funding from the State Government is provided to support football (soccer), for children under 18, in NSW?
  2. What funding is provided for children playing football (soccer) in the Hunter?
Answer -
  1. Under the Sport Development Program, Sport and Recreation provides total funding of $60,000 to Football NSW and Northern NSW Football to achieve outcomes within their business plans.
    In 2010-2011, a further $1,702,690 was provided for general football (soccer) projects in NSW.
    Additionally, a further $50,000 was provided to the Johnny Warren Football Foundation to achieve outcomes in their business plan.
  2. In 2010-2011, Sport and Recreation provided $184,272 for general football (soccer) projects in the Hunter Region.
