That this House:

1. Notes the statement made by the Minister for Health to a recent Parliamentary Budget Estimates meeting that 835 new hospital beds have been opened by the Government.
2. Notes that in relation to the claimed 835 beds, 356 were opened by the previous Government and 304 beds were funded by the Federal Government.
3. Notes that this Government's contribution of 175 beds represent 13 per cent of the 1390 beds promised by the Government at the 2011 general election.
4. Calls on the Minister for Health and the Government to stop misrepresenting figures and to open the new beds as per its election commitment.
