To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly,
We, the undersigned citizens of New South Wales are concerned about any moves to reduce or close services that are provided at Kurri Kurri Hospital. We believe that there is a strong historical community support and belonging for this facility.
The undersigned petitioners therefore ask the Legislative Assembly to request that the NSW Government and the NSW Minister for Health to consider the following with regards to the Kurri Kurri Hospital:
• They provide direction and to continue providing essential hospital services to our community.
• The present Emergency Department be retained with appropriate triage facilities.
• The present Palliative Care Unit be maintained.
• That the Medical Ward continue to stay open with regular visitations of Visiting Medical Doctors (VMOs).
• That the Rehabilitation, Pathology and X-ray Departments at the hospital be maintained.
• That general upkeep and maintenance of the hospital buildings continue to be undertaken.
