Provision of Police Residence in Trundle

Petitioner: Mr Peter Kelly | Member: Donato, Philip | No. of Signatories: 381 | Date closed: 02/08/2024
To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly, The Trundle Police Residence in Croft Street has been deemed unsuitable for habitation and beyond repair by Property NSW, with our resident police officer Senior Constable Judith Crawford being evicted and given 7 days to vacate the premises with no suitable alternative accommodation option offered. We are disgusted that the police officer who has rendered excellent service to our community over a long tenure should be treated with such impunity and indignity as to be evicted from her residence despite (not because of) her behaviour. We are most concerned for a continued police presence in Trundle without a suitable residence available. We, the undersigned petitioners, ask the Legislative Assembly to call on the Government to support our community and take action required to ensure the repair or replacement of the police residence in Trundle to allow long term police presence in our community.
