To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly, of New South Wales,
We, the undersigned petitioners, urge the consideration of Toowoon Bay on the NSW Central Coast for designation as a marine-protected aquatic reserve. This picturesque bay boasts beautiful underwater reefs and diverse marine life. However, the increasing presence of spearfishing and fishing boats threatens the ecosystem and poses risks to families enjoying the bay. We propose implementing protections to preserve the bay's natural beauty and ensure the safety of beachgoers. With alternative boat access points available nearby, safeguarding Toowoon Bay is crucial for preserving its status as one of NSW's cleanest and most beloved swimming destinations.
We ask the Legislative Assembly to call on the government to designate Toowoon Bay on the NSW Central Coast as a marine-protected aquatic reserve to preserve its natural beauty and ensure the safety of beachgoers.
