To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly,
The act & the law in NSW where an overseas Student is not allowed to acquire the education and the Security guarding license due to their work rights. We from the multicultural communities and specially being in the Security guarding industry has faced enormous amounts of challenges specially at the time of Covid-19 Pandemic where the shortage of manpower was witnessed by the entire country.
We believe that this act is a total violation of human rights.
As per to one example if an overseas student who could be a doctor in his or her own country and comes to Australia as an overseas student has the right to practice his or her profession after acquiring their relevant licenses from the authority of NSW or Federal authorities. If a life saving doctor is allowed to practice their profession than why not these literate students who are more literate than the locally acquired guards in the industry who mostly are not even high school graduates. We like to present this petition and request the parliament to scrap such acts and laws and give the Students their rights of education and profession in the Security Guarding Industry. I like to thank you all and specially Ms Lynda Voltz who helped me with this process.
