To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly,
In 1992, the Molong Railway Station was closed hence ceasing rail passenger services through the area.
Molong's population consists largely of elderly residents and young families, many rely on limited bus services to travel into the larger neighbouring city of Orange and other areas for various necessities and/or requirements.
In 2017, the NSW Government committed $1 million to the restoration of Milthorpe Railway Station completed in March 2019 resuming paying rail passenger services.
The undersigned petitioners, therefore, ask the Legislative Assembly to acknowledge, consider and find in favour of the following:
1. Delivering a similar commitment to the restoration and upgrades to Molong Railway Station and railway line within the guidelines of the Heritage Act 1977.
2. The inclusion of Molong in NSW Central West line rail passenger services.
