To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly,
This petition is intended to support individuals and families who are impacted by the lack of a high school in Bungendore where students can attend for their entire high school journey.
The demountable classrooms cannot remain long term as this is impacting children across both Schools. What may not be clear is the impact that this situation has and will continue to have on the children and current teachers. People need to plan their lives around this phase of education and the lack of clarity does not help as there is no clear progress on the high school.
We request that the Legislative Assembly call on the Government to:
• Improve the communication as to where development of the school is at, with clear dates and milestones for progress and explanations where there is a lack of progression
• Ensure that the permanent high school ground/development commences this calendar year
The current approved and funded site appears to have the best prospects for delivering a permanent high school as soon as possible which should commence this year. If not, identify and tell the community what the next site is with a timeframe commitment.
