Notes: TGG Dangar was the Returning Officer for Gwydir. He was convinced to contest the seat but did not resign his position early enough for nominations to take place on the set date of 10 December, resulting in a delay in the original polling day of 24 December. The new returning officer was outside of the state when appointed, and new nominations were not called until 17 January, polling on 24 January. The whole election was later overturned by the Elections and Qualifications Committee as Dangar held a mail contract with the government that breached the constitution.
