Privileges Committee—Reference (Formal Business)
Miss Gardiner moved, according to notice:
- That this House notes that in December 2009, the President of the
Legislative Council, the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly and the
Commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption entered into a
‘Memorandum of understanding on the execution of Search Warrants in the
Parliament House Offices of Members of the New South Wales Parliament’.
- That the Privileges Committee inquire into and report on:
(a) the development of a Memorandum of Understanding between the President and
Commissioner of Police covering the execution of search warrants by the NSW
Police Force on the premises of members, and
(b) whether it would be appropriate to enter into a similar Memorandum of
Understanding with any other relevant agency.
- That the Committee report by the last sitting day in September 2010.
- That a message be forwarded to the Legislative Assembly informing it of the
terms of reference agreed to by the House, and requesting that the Legislative
Assembly Privileges and Ethics Committee be given a similar reference.

The Legislative Council desires to inform the Legislative Assembly that it has
this day agreed to the following resolution:
