(Reference received 20 July 1995, amended 21 May 1998) That the Standing Committee on State Development inquire into and report on the
role of Government in facilitating the international competitiveness of
agriculture in New South Wales, including:
innovation and diversification of the industry, including the development of
new products and the application of new technology;
business enhancement services (for example, marketing and market intelligence,
industry links/network, and leadership);
regulatory impediments, and inter and intra government coordination;
cost structures of the industry (for example, transport costs, packaging costs,
state taxes and charges, and utility charges); and
the development of sustainable management of agricultural resources.
