Notes: Maclean has been listed as a Labor candidate in line with the Daily Telegraph, listing him as a Protectionist Labor candidate with the close of nominations, and a defeated Labor candidate in the election summary, 4 July 1891, p.4 col.1.
Source: Shoalhaven Telegraph, 24 June 1891, p.2 col.3, includes booth results. This matched the totals included on the Higinbotham and Robinson, Electoral and Political Reference Map of New South Wales, published March 1992. These were the sources that matched totals published in the Statistical Register. SMH 20 June 1891, p.10 col.3, included booths and reported as 'state of the polling'. Report SMH 22 June, p.5 col.8, reports the official declaration of Moreton winning by 422 votes, but does not include the final candidate totals. Shoalhaven News published incomplete totals the day after the poll but never reported the final result. Nowra Colonist had different totals, 24 June 1891, p.2 col.4, 1258/836, which matches the reported 422 majority but not the Statistical Register.
