Source: Cooma Express, 9 February 1889, p.2 col.4, used in preference to slightly different totals in SMH 9 February 1889, p.9 col.2. SMH report includes additional booth results, earlier booths having been published 8 February, p.5.
Corrections: The Statistical Register reported 2990 formal votes, but this produces a turnout of 82.5%, and also means that only 108 voters used two votes. This suggests an error in the Statistical Register, and the value of person voting has been ignored.
