Visit The Queen's Album, the latest art exhibition on display in the Fountain Court at NSW Parliament.

On display from Wednesday 5 May, The Queen's Album exhibition explores the unique story of an album of photographs gifted to Queen Victoria in 1882 on behalf of the people of the Colony of New South Wales. Designed to promote NSW as a desirable place, the album was composed of 64 images of sites and scenes around the State. This included the Botanic Gardens and Australian Museum in Sydney, as well as images from developing regions such as Newcastle and the Blue Mountains. 

Curated through a collaboration of staff at NSW State Archives and Sydney Living Museums, research and development of the The Queen's Album exhibition led to a number of discoveries - including the fact that the whereabouts of the original 'Queen's Album', are unknown. This 'mystery' has grown to become an additional storyline within the project and one that staff at NSW State Archives hope may be solved with help from the public.

Visit the Fountain Court exhibition space at the Parliament of NSW on weekdays, 9am-5pm. The Queen's Album is on display from Wednesday 5 May - Thursday 27 May 2021.
