Visit Australia’s oldest Parliament on April 19, as it opens its doors for the Festival of Democracy, an open day packed with free, fun activities for families with children aged from 4 to 12 years.
This year’s highlights include:
having a say in our mock committee hearings
making a speech as a member of parliament in the chambers
drawing in a cartoon workshop with the award-winning illustrator Eric Lobbecke
voting with the NSW Electoral Commission.
There will be many other activities on offer including craft, tours of our historic chambers, roving musicians and more…! (You may even get to meet some very important people!)
Entry is free and the event will be held at NSW Parliament, 6 Macquarie Street Sydney. A ticket is required for each person attending and children must be accompanied by an adult. Please use this link to search for directions and public transport options to Parliament House.
