Lawyer (solicitor). Educated at Sydney College under W. T. Cape 1839 - 1842. Became a copying clerk for W. Thurlow, solicitor, in 1843, then was articled to him. Admitted as a solicitor on 1 May 1852 and practised with the firm of Thurlow, Dick & Brown to 1868; then with Richard Holdsworth to 1879 when he began his own practice. Recreational interests include cricket.
