Qualifications, occupations and interests
Public servant and clerk. With his brother, a poet, went to the Hunter River and later returned to Sydney. Wrote many editorials in Henry Parkes. Clerk in Lands Department at time of death. Leading figure in Father Lynch's total abstinence movement in 1840's. Convert to Catholicism. Active in radical movements of 1840's and 1850's.
