Liberal Party. Penrith branch; lost preselection for 1962, failed to regain it for the following election, left party in 1966.
Qualifications, occupations and interests
Carrier. Raised by grandparents in Penrith district. Educated in primary school; worked as a porter with the Railways Department in Sydney from 1927 until 1931, retrenched. Commenced a carrying business with one truck in 1934 and purchased a fleet of 24 vehicles. Became a member of several sporting clubs, Red Cross Society. Rotarian.
