Qualifications, occupations and interests
Lawyer (solicitor). Educated in Fort Street public school and Sydney Grammar school; at age fifteen was employed in Oriental Bank Corporation; matriculated by private study; articled in 1881 to W.J Trickett, assigned in 1883 to W.H Piggott, admitted as a solicitor in 1887; established his own practice, at a later time became a senior partner with brother in McCoy and McCoy, joined in 1928 by Atkinson and 1929 by Grove; Australian Protestant Defence Association; opened first Gospel Hall in Queanbeyan; Orangeman; Freemason.
