Dairy farmer and auctioneer. Educated at Toolejooa public school; studied surveying but did not qualify; selected land on Coopers Creek near Clunes in Richmond River district in 1880; became an auctioneer and stock and station agent at Lismore in 1890. Foundation committee member of Lismore Agricultural and Industrial Society; director of Lismore District Hospital; chairman of Lismore Electric Lighting company; assisted in establishing Springhill Dairy Factory
