Farmer and grazier. Educated at Ardlethan Public School and Yanco Agricultural High School. Recreational interests include cricket, tennis and all sports.

2nd Australian Imperial Forces 1940-1945. 2/5 Australian Field Regiment (Lieutenant). Served Darwin, Morotai and Borneo.
