- Is the Government committed to supporting TAFE NSW meet its
responsibilities under the Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act
1998 by providing fully registered psychologists as TAFE counsellors?
- What is the Government's response to the existing counselling cuts caused
by the threat of privatisation, including those in New England, the Hunter, the
Illawarra, and South West Sydney?
|
Answer -
|
(1) The Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act 1998 does not
require fully registered psychologists to be employed as TAFE Counsellors.
(2) The Government is not privatising TAFE. TAFE NSW Institutes review
their staffing requirements and services to students regularly.
