Privacy

The Parliament of New South Wales website has a privacy policy. Any information you submit through a form (such as an ePetition) is not retained on the public web server and will not be used for purposes other than that for which it was provided.

Creating a petition

When you create an ePetition we ask for your name, address, telephone number and email address. This information helps us to contact you.

Your name will be published online with your petition, but not your address, telephone number or email address.

Your email address is used to contact you about your petition and to make sure you are a real person (and not a bot). We will not use your email address or disclose it without your consent.

Signing a petition

You must be a resident of New South Wales to create an ePetition. Members of the Legislative Assembly cannot create an ePetition.

When you sign an ePetition we ask for your name and a verifiable email address. We will not publish your information online.

Your email address will be used to verify your intent to sign a petition. We also use your email address to make sure you haven’t signed the petition already, and that you’re a real person (and not a bot). We will use your email address to keep you informed of the status of the petition and any Government response, unless you advise us that you don't want that to happen. We will not use your email address for any other purpose, and will not disclose it without your consent.

Neither the Legislative Assembly nor any Member presenting a petition endorses the views or information contained in any petition listed on this website. The Legislative Assembly and Members do not make any representations about, or assume any liability for any of the information set out in any petition. No petition posted on this website is protected by parliamentary privilege until presented by a Member of the Legislative Assembly to the Legislative Assembly.
