To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly,
We, the undersigned, oppose the construction of the planned Kerrs Creek Windfarm (part of the Central West/Orana Renewable Energy Zone).
We oppose the project for the following reasons:
• Lack of consultation between the proponent company, Renewable Energy Solutions (RES), and the residents of Cabonne Shire
• Potential property devaluation due to audible and visual impacts of turbines
• Insurance issues
• Fire risk to the surrounding community
• Environmental risk
• Disruption of cellular signal
• Detrimental effect on agricultural/residential growth and investment
• Strain on roads and risk to surrounding infrastructure due to transportation of turbine blades etc
• Potential physical and psychological health risks posed to people and livestock (i.e wind turbine syndrome)
We, the undersigned therefore ask the Legislative Assembly to call on the Government to revoke the Kerrs Creek windfarm proposal from the Orana-Central West Renewable Energy Zone.
