To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly,
The Petition of the residents of New South Wales brings to the attention of the House the loss of the Liverpool City Robins Football Club Home ground at Ash Road Prestons (AKA Culter VC Rest area) to a drive thru Covid Testing Clinic. The loss of the Home ground has displaced hundreds of children from the Robins Football club and Robins Athletics Club for the 2020 season and now the 2021 season. The undersigned petitioners therefore ask the Legislative Assembly to urgently request Department of Health to relocate this Drive thru Covid Clinic as there has been a substantial drop in usage since the 2020 Covid outbreak.
Executive Summary
Robins FC lost their fields for their 2020 season to a drive thru COVID testing clinic. The Club split it’s Teams over 3 different fields for training and could not play any home games.
Due to no home games the club has lost over $8000+ by not having a weekly canteen or merchandise on hand to sell. This is the main source of fund-raising to put back into the club and members. The committee has worked hard over the last 6 years to get the club where it is today with 40 teams and 400+ members. Liverpool Robins FC now face the possibility of losing many of its players and members due to not have a home ground.
There are other sites around that this testing facility be relocated to.
