To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly,
We the following petitioners call upon the members of the Legislative Assembly to:
1. Cease all trapping and removal, immediately, pending the adoption of a new Management Plan.
2. As a priority, the Minister for the Environment, will recognise the Brumbies’ identified heritage value in their historic northern and
southern areas within KNP where populations of Brumbies will be protected and maintained in accordance with the Act.
3. Immediately create a new Management Plan which includes valuable community knowledge and involvement with NPWS to manage
brumby populations and to protect their identified heritage value in accordance with the Act.
4. Fund independent and transparent scientific ‘field’ research into the ecological benefits and impacts of Brumbies’ in their relevant
historic areas.
