Son of Lieutenant John Wild, Adjutant of the 48th Regiment and Superintendant of Government Stock at Cawdor, and his wife Mary Lynch. Married Emmeline Gaudry or Godfrey, at Cobbity on 12 February 1832and had issue, 7 sons and 6 daughters. Their son, William Vandermeulen Wild (1834 - 1861) was a Member of the Legislative Assembly.
