Worked on staff of the Melbourne Age; reported in federal conventions in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide from 1897 until 1898 and some of the earliest meetings of the Commonwealth Parliament; appointed in Sydney and was a representative of The Age c.1905; proprieter, with Frank Walford in 1912 and with Mary Bertha Lang in 1918, of Cumberland Times, Parramatta; president of New South Wales district in 1912; later became a poultry farmer; member of Australian Industrial Christian Fellowship in 1923.
