Alderman of the Sydney City Council for Phillip Ward, 1 May 1898 - 30 November 1898; for Cook Ward 1 December 1898 - 6 December 1900; and for Flinders Ward 1 December 1904 - 1930 November 1906. Member of the Fish Market Inquiry 1905; the Finance Committee 1899 - 1900; and the Works Committee 1899 - 1900.
