Black, Ivan Carlisle (Re-elected)
Liberal Party
Elected unopposed
Cause Category: Resignation - Federal contest
Notes: Ivan Black resigned to contest Liberal pre-selection for Warringah at the 1951 Federal election. He did not win pre-selection and was re-elected unopposed. In a letter to the Sydney Morning Herald on 4 April 1951, Black stated that the Commonwealth Electoral Act required State MPs to resign 14 days before nominating for a Federal seat. To comply with this provision, he had to resign before the pre-selection ballot.
