Cause Category: Death
Notes: Caused by the death of UAP MP John William Waddell. Note that his widow was the UAP candidate.
Source: Nominations SMH 4 April 1939, p.15 col.5. The SMH incorrectly refers to Charles Martin, but does identify him as a Industrial or Heffron Labor candidate.
Corrections: Note that Hughes and Graham list Martin as a State Labor candidate and Ormonde as Lang Labor. State Labor had been known as Industrial Labor or Heffron Labor at the 1938 election. Martin has been listed as Industrial Labor here to avoid confusion with the Lang's State Labor from earlier in the 1930s, or the distinct Hughes-Evans State Labor that contested the 1941 election. Ormonde has been listed as Labor Party to avoid confusion with the party Lang formed in the 1940s.
