Notes: Sitting MP Samuel Deane Gordon did not re-contest.
Source: Report of nominations, SMH 14 December 1860, p.3 col.2, with results same day, p.5 col. 6
Corrections: The Australian Dictionary of Biography states that Gordon was defeated at the 1860 election. However, he made it clear with published statements (eg SMH 4 December, p.3 col.2) that he was not re-contesting. When he was nominated on the hustings (see sources), a Dr Gerard declined the nomination as his proxy.
