Source: Figures for The Bogan have been very difficult to verify. The figures used are taken from the Illawarra Mercury, 4 January 1862, p.2 col.4. Same figures reported SMH 1 January 1861. Both papers state the figures are incomplete with two polling stations to report. The SMH and the Empire did not appear to follow up the Bogan result once it was clear that Lord had won. Statistical Register (1860) recorded 209 votes.
