Expression of Interest: NSW Parliament Facade Interpretation Artwork

Expression of Interest: NSW Parliament Facade Interpretation Artwork

Overview

We are excited to share an opportunity for artists to create an interpretation of the iconic NSW Parliament House facade. Artists will be tasked with creating a digital artwork through which their unique perspective can be explored in visualising the highly recognisble facade as seen from Macquarie St Sydney.

We are seeking Expressions of Interest (EOI) from artists with strong connections to New South Wales. Aboriginal, LGBTQIA+ and/or rural, regional, and remote artists, as well as emerging artists, are strongly encouraged to apply.

Up to three artists will be selected. Each successful artist will be paid a fee of $6050 plus GST.

Guidelines

We recommend you read the Expression of Interest information document before you apply. This document includes the Design Brief, Selection Criteria and more information you will need. Also available is an example of our current artistic interpretation of the facade.

FAQs

What mediums or styles are acceptable for the design?

We're excited to see concepts and designs that are in the artist's unique style and reflect their interpretation of the NSW Parliament House façade. There is no specific medium or style that we are looking for. Anything can be used from pen, pencil, paint or another physical medium to digital rendering. In terms of style this is up to the artist and can range from hyperrealism to abstract or impressionist. Please note that the final design must be submitted digitally so physical medium designs will need to be scanned or rendered into a high resolution digital format.

Will the design be projected onto the NSW Parliament House facade?

No, the design is an interpretation of the facade. It will not be a projection overlay onto NSW Parliament House.
