Qualifications, occupations and interests

Pastoralist and landholder. Laid the foundation stone of St James's Church of England, Morpeth on 2 January 1837. St James's church was consecrated on 31 December 1840 by Bishop Broughton.


Personal

Son of Major Edward Charles and his wife Sophia Susannah Palmer. Father was also a member of the first Legislative Council. Married on 24 July 1847 to Louisa Slade Platt at Morpeth and had issue, 2 sons and 2 daughters. Church of England.
