RAIL SERVICES

Mr FRASER: My question without notice is directed to the Minister for Transport. In view of the unprecedented levels of industrial disputes this year, resulting in the shut-down of essential rail services and thousands of stranded commuters, what is the Minister doing to ensure that the transport system does not run off the rails again? Or is he just going to use the Michael Knight defence?

Mr SCULLY: As far as I am aware there are no current industrial disputes between the State Rail Authority and its employees.

Mr FRASER: I ask a supplementary question. In view of the Minister’s answer will he please advise the House what he is doing in regard to Countrylink ticketing?

Mr SPEAKER: Order! That is not a supplementary question.
