The Hon. MICK VEITCH: My question is to the Minister for Finance and Services. Given that the Lambert review, Standard and Poor's, the Parliamentary Budget Office, television news in Sydney, the
Sydney Morning Herald and the
Australian—
The Hon. Duncan Gay: Point of order: I refer to the use of props. The standing orders forbid the use of props in the House.
The Hon. Greg Pearce: To the point of order: The member stood opposite me, held up the props and threw them onto the table.
The PRESIDENT: Order! It is not clear that the Hon. Mick Veitch used the documents as props. He was referring to documents as part of his question. He will get to the nub of his question.
The Hon. MICK VEITCH: Will the Minister finally come clean with the people of New South Wales and admit that all the talk about the budget black hole is just a way of covering up the Government's unfunded promises and upcoming service cuts?
The Hon. GREG PEARCE: It is really good to be asked this question because I asked my team yesterday whether I could have another dorothy dixer today on the budget black hole and they said, "Oh no, we have done the black hole to death." I did not expect Opposition members to ask a policy question because all they have done so far is ask questions about themselves and try to dig up dirt. So, it is really good to see they are thinking about questions that may be relevant to the future of the State. At various times I have spoken about the Lambert report and I do not think there is much point in my going through it in detail again. It disclosed a massive black hole since the half-yearly review. It exposed the rail smoothing that took place at the direction of the previous Government to deliberately disguise the budget outcome, which has left us with a massive problem which we will resolve.
