Review of the Protected Disclosures Act 1994 (Inquiry)
This inquiry is a completed Parliamentary inquiry conducted by the ICAC Committee. By joint House resolutions, the Committee on the Independent Commission Against Corruption will act as a joint committee of members of Parliament under s.32 of the Protected Disclosures Act 1994 to review the Act.
The review is to determine whether the policy objectives of the Protected Disclosures Act 1994 remain valid and whether the terms of the Act remain appropriate for securing those objectives.
The Committee will be receiving submissions until Thursday 1 December 2005.

Inquiry Terms of Reference (click to show)
The Protected Disclosures Act 1994 is intended to encourage and facilitate the disclosure, in the public interest, of corrupt conduct, maladministration and serious and substantial waste in the public sector by:
(a) enhancing and augmenting established procedures for making disclosures concerning such matters, and
(b) protecting persons from reprisals that might otherwise be inflicted on them because of those disclosures, and
(c) providing for those disclosures to be properly investigated and dealt with.
The Committee on the Independent Commission Against Corruption invites written comment from interested organisations, groups and individuals. Submissions should be forwarded to:
