Legislation on altruistic surrogacy in NSW (Inquiry)
This inquiry is a completed Legislative Council inquiry conducted by the Law and Justice Committee.
The Standing Committee on Law and Justice accepted terms of reference regarding whether NSW legislation requires amendment to better deal with altruistic surrogacy and other related matters.
The terms of reference for the inquiry were referred by the Attorney General, the Hon John Hatzistergos MLC.
The Committee held four days of public hearings on 5 and 6 November 2008 and18 and 19 March 2009.
The Committee tabled its report to the Inquiry on 27 May 2009. The Government's response to the report is due on 27 November 2009.
